T is for Tropical Toucan!

S is for Sassy Shiba-Inu

R Is For Refined Raccoon!

So I have about two weeks left of my life here at Syracuse and its getting hard. I am spending half my time trying to finish all of my assignments and half my time making memories with my friends and crying about how its all coming to an end. I am very stressed out because I need to finish my work but I also feel as though I can't miss out on priceless times with my roommates anymore. I will finish the alphabet by Friday, but I still have so much more work... I hope I can get everything together in time.. I do not think I've ever had this much work before. Oy. (Wish me luck)

Q is for Quizzical Quail

P is for Patriotic Pit Bull

Fun Fact: Pit Bulls were the Poster Dog for WWII. Before their undeserved bad reputation they were thought of as American Heroes and wonderful companions- which is very true and a much more accurate description of the breed. See the Propaganda poster below- (I cannot find the artist's name unfortunately)

O is for Ornery Ocelot

L is for Lazy Lynx!

I don't love this one as much as the last two- which is surprising because canine and feline characters are my favorite to draw.
I am still really hurt by the Cisco killing.. I have been in a daze lately because of it. I also heard a news story yesterday about a 14 year old 'boy' who started a dog fighting ring and used his own chocolate lab as a bait dog. The dog had to be euthanized because his back leg had be chewed out, he had been sodomized so badly he couldn't properly go to the bathroom, and all the videos of him make him seem as though his soul had been torn to bits.
Probably nothing will happen to this kid.. its 2012... why aren't there harsher punishments for animal offenders? Its been proven that most serial killers and child molester started out abusing animals.. If we could just stop them when they are young we could get justice for these animals and save future human victims as well..

R.I.P Cisco

Well if you haven't heard about the innocent dog that was murdered by a cop in Austin TX, I am sure you will soon- the story has gone viral and will hopefully lead to change. Cisco was gunned down when a cop accidentally went to the wrong address after a call about a domestic disturbance. The owner was in the driveway- unarmed, when the cop pulled his gun and put it in his face. Cisco heard his owner in distress and came running and barking. As the 'cop' says "Get your Do----SHOT---g" he shoots before he can even finish the word 'dog'. The owner could not restrain his dog because he had a gun in face. His innocent Blue Heeler- who had never bitten or shown aggression towards a human in his life was dead before his feet.

I have been very distraught about this story ever since I found out about it last night. I have not been able to sleep or accomplish much school work. I hope Law Enforcement all over the country start to train their officers how to understand dog behavior and learn to use non-deadly force to protect themselves... This is the fourth story in 2 months that I am aware of of a cop killing innocent dogs in their own yards. I did a drawing of Ice less than a month ago who's fate was similar. I hope Cisco is the last dog I feel the need to draw like this....

K is for King-sized Koi

Launching: Morgan & Anna's Subpar Adventure

Well, I am having a difficult time drawing today- despite feeling incredibly inspired. Oh well... Me and Anna Rettberg have discussed an idea for a webcomic and I think its pretty brilliant. These are just a few of a million sketches that I did that I think are worth showcasing so far. Stay tuned for more... (*hint hint*)

Good Girl, Monday Pg 1

This is the first page in my children's story about a Pit Bull named Monday. The concept for her is below.
