It has not been an easy transition from a full-time job to now making my own schedule again. However, now that I know what it is like to work really hard for 8 hours a day on artwork I am finding it much easier to get things done without a "boss" telling me to do so. Before I moved to NYC I kept having that "Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow" mentality. It hasn't been ideal lately, with a lot of freelance work falling through... a lot of people not answering e-mails after I have done extensive amounts of work for them.. Others promising feedback and then never following up on it. I am slightly disappointed in myself for trusting too many people and not writing up enough contracts and invoices- a mistake I do not think I will make again. For now I have a few donated pieces I did for very honest and grateful people. :)
That's unfortunate about the bad clients... It's hard to know how professional they'll be until it's too late :/ It's awesome that you feel so much more driven now, though!
