Good Karma

I donate a lot of artwork (All of the following work). I hope that it helps whatever cause it is going towards, such as helping a homeless pet find a home, for a Rescue to sell and use the money to keep saving lives, for a 501(c)3 to auction off and for me to create a personalized gift for whoever bid the highest. Sometimes its for my mom and for my town. I hope that all this "free work" brings me some good luck... I feel as though I am just skating on thin ice right now. I am just making enough to survive in NYC right now, so much money goes towards rent and food I wonder if staying at home for a year might have been a good idea.. I know I would never have gotten the chance to work at Little Airplane Productions, to meet some of the people I've met, to have the experiences I've had.. I just always pictured "making it big" a year after college, which is probably unrealistic, but I wish there was just a road map to how to get a children's book published, how to work for groups Bad Rap, Stubby Dog, No Kill Advocacy Center, etc.

For now I will keep doing what I am doing and working on my portfolio, I do need to work harder and longer, I just need to find the strength, the motivation, and a stronger coffee.

Funny Caricatures

just a couple of goofy caricatures, and some of my better work I think this past week... Mocha-Chino is a pittie that needs a home. I also am running a special with an organization called Foster Dogs NYC- hopefully it will bring in some more business!

Shame on Miami-Dade

Tonight Miami-Dade voted against repealing the 23 year Pit Bull ban. They remain the only county in Florida that supports BSL. Its truly pathetic. Their ignorance will kill many pit bulls this year as they have the past 23 years. This did not pass even with the American Veterinary Society, celebrities, and hardworking animal rights activists backing it. Their ignorance will kill innocent pets. Shame on those who voted against it. SHAME.

This is a T-Shirt Design I did for a Pit Bull Rescue in MD. I did this artwork for free! I also did a children's version for them as well.

The new Lennox- Wicca

Wicca is a pit bull who scratched a woman and is now facing her death. She does not live in an area where there is BSL and the "attack" did not take place in an area with BSL, regardless she did not receive the rights that are granted by dogs that are accused of being attacking in Montreal because she is a pit bull. This is Breed Discrimination. The law says a dog that "bites" must wear a muzzle for 90 days and should be examined by an behaviorist. None of these things happened because she was taken away and sentenced to death. This is unfair, unlawful, cruel and needs to stop. Wicca, like Lennox, may die because of human ignorance. (Update: Wicca was killed on 7/26/2012, despite over 10,000 signatures on her petition, the judge begging for her to be pardoned, and the world watching.)
Dogs are NOT throw-away. They are sentient beings with the ability to feel, to love, to hurt and of course to change. Even if she was nipped this person, does that warrant death? Wicca's owner was interviewed and cries throughout the whole thing. Dogs are not property, they are members of our families and should be treated as such. Her 'wrong-doing' should not warrant a death sentence.... Save Wicca.

Lennox

After a 2 year legal battle, Lennox the dog has but 3 hours left to live before Belfast City Council wrongfully kills him for 'looking like a pit bull'. Two years ago they took Lennox from his family in Belfast, Ireland and since then the world has pleaded for them to let him live and go home. Lennox never bit anyone, no one has ever complained about him at all. He did NOTHING wrong, except look like a pit bull. He is in fact an American Bulldog/Labrador mix as DNA confirms. Regardless, Belfast has refused offers from Cesar Milan (the Dog Whisperer) and Victoria Stillwell (star of the Animal Planet Show, It's Me or the Dog) and many other dog behaviorists and activists across the world to rehome Lennox. Politicians have even shown their disgust in Belfast's decision to wrongly kill this dog despite other available options. Thousands upon thousands of people are protesting and will refuse to ever visit Belfast. Almost 200,000 people signed the petition to allow Lennox to live and tonight the world cries, hopes, begs, and pleads for them to make the only humane, justifiable, and right decision- let Lennox Live.

Lennox is but ONE victim of Breed Specific Legislation. BSL claims more family pets than it does actual public threats. It is time to start blaming the DEED not the BREED. Its important to note that Lennox was/is a therapy dog for his little girl. Shame of Belfast. We Will Never Forget.

Adopt NY - Logo Idea

I have offered my services to many No Kill organizations. Adopt NY http://www.facebook.com/adoptny is a fantastic group and they are working on making T-shirts and such, so I  offered to work on some ideas for them. This image is not associated with their organization at this time, but if they choose it, they will be free to do with it as they please! It'd be great if they liked it and wanted to use it, but if not I enjoyed making this! (Note: if you are a part of a 501(c)3, and are No Kill, or trying your best to get there, contact me for some work!)

Monday & Ice

One of the loves of my life was a pit bull named Monday. She's maybe going to be the main character is my next assignment which is to write a short children's story and illustrate it. The other dog is a quick drawing I did based off of a deaf pit bull named Ice who was shot and killed in his front yard by an incredibly ignorant and (enter a more crude and offensive word for jerk here) police officer.
